Dallas Homes weather Housing downturn storm

Texas

The updated results are in for the housing stats for the Dallas area and they still remain counter cyclical to many areas of the country in the bust phase.

Home sales in Dallas have been impacted slowing down year over year and days on market like many areas of the country have started to creep up.

The most counter cyclical observation is that the homes are appreciating slightly which is similar to what was observed earlier in the year. This reflected that we didn't see the big upswing in prices therefore we are not seeing a big downswing either. Many central U.S. cities have seen this.

See table for your favorite area of the Dallas metro to drill down.

I was in Dallas last Spring.  That is a nice area.  Just the number of corporate headquarters should provide many of good paying jobs.

Job growth continues to be very good in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and I think that has a lot to do with the counter cyclical market here.  Houses that are priced right are selling.  Houses in the better areas, like Addison, are selling.  I'm thrilled that my listing in Duncanville finally sold and I plan to refer out any other potential business in that sector of DFW.
