There is Power in a Smile

Girl SmileOne of the joys of working in the real estate business is you get to immerse yourself in a sea of humanity. It is definitely a people business.

I remember other great people watching places in life like McDonald's, the grocery store, the mall, and one of the best places to see people is at the airport.

That said, you learn with people they all have their daily ups and downs. But you catch a glimpse every once in a while of the magic that is life and that is the exchange of a smile.

THERE IS POWER IN A SMILE.

Whether you give yours or you receive one, for one brief moment the spirit is uplifted.

So don't be stingey with any of your smiles. Get out there and give them and make the world a BRIGHTER place.

Here's one for you today...

Have you ever wondered what idiots look like? Well wonder no more----

Idiots

Comments

love the child's smile, but the  idiots... I had to look at it... made me laugh. It's terrific, them lunatics.

cheers

I found years ago I could uplift my own spirits by walking down the sidewalk and looking in the faces of people and smile.. most would smile back, a few would say goodmorning or hello.. I still do this in my office of 800 agents ..  not all work inside the office so there are always alot of folks I don't know but it doesn't take too many smiles to get to know them... its a treat to see someone smile.  thanks Gary for the post.

Gary: Things can make you smile just about everywhere.

Georgina: You're welcome.

Jim: Life is a funny place.

Linda: You are always on top of things!

Jesse & Kathy: Idiots, well they'll be idiots.

Colleen: Airports are cool. Watch all the greetings as people come off a plane or the hugs as they depart.

Gail: It's contagious, isn't it?

Gary, a smile says more than a single word does. I would rather be like those idiots right now than freezing my rear end off and trying to hybernate! lol At least I think I would.

Kids always have such beautiful smiles...We do need to use them more often. That group at the bottom made me smile and think of my husband's saying, "It is natures way of weeding out the idiots!"

Gary~There is nothing more refreshing and heartwarming than a smile.  Sometimes it's interesting to watch people and when you make contact, send them a smile. Not always do they know how to react.

Gary, I always look forward to reading your posts.  I am happy to report myself as a giver and a taker of smiles.  It makes the day of so many.

Kids really have a way of knowing when you need a smile/hug.  Us adults could learn a lot from them.

As for the idiots...OMG..what were they thinking.

Gary, you are so right about the smile. I used to work in an airport, and one of my favorite things to do was watch the people and he excitement they had on their faces in anticipation of there big trip. Also thank you for the crazy picture, I will add it to my collection.

Mary: Sorry to hear you are hibernating. Spring will be around the corner.

Teri: Evolution eradicates idiots!

Julie: Smile and people will wonder what you are up to.

Latonia: Keep making people's days.

Jody: Children smile so much more frequently than adults.

Rob: Anticipation of the big trip does show people in a charged emotional state I agree.

Gary...A smile is a powerful thing.  It is like a yawn.  When you yawn, others will yawn.  When you smile, you can get others to smile.  And what a good feeling that gives you.

Let's all keep smiling...and enjoying our profession.

Cheers,

Kathleen

It took me a minute to get what you were talking about regarding the idiots.  I thought it was a ski jump, then I realized what it really was.

brought a smile to my face.  Crazy

Donna: Who can't not smile with a puppy in your hands?

Ginger: Idiots are all around us and are hazardous to our health. Stay away from knuckleheads!

Mike: Ice is important at all parties. Even if you will be electocuted!

Kathleen: There I go again, yawning and smiling. Just thinking about yawning makes you do that!

Kate: Weirdos in a pool. Notice none of them were women. That's why men die sooner.

Gary,

What a sweet smile on that little one.  As for the idiots, I see that even the "adult beverages" they have consumed didn't get them any more brains.

Gary, thanks for the laugh, we have seen the bottom picture recently and all we could say is "Surely the other end is not plugged in"  :-)

I have a new flip video and I've been catching my 10 year old doing the oddest things then putting them on my other blog, talk about a smile, sometimes we get into fun blown laughter, "Laughter is the best medicine"

Thanks for the sweet smile, Gary, and of course, we are all smarter than the "idiots" in the pool! The wife that took that picture must have known the life insurance was paid up. Yikes!!
Posted by Bonnie & Terry Westbrook Grand Rapids MI Real Estate (Westbrook Realty) about 1 year ago

Roberta: Idiots are everywhere. Watch out for them, and don't let them spoil your day.

Gary: The adult beverages kill brain cells, it's no wonder.

David: In our family with that old 8 millimeter film we used to run it backwards diving off the diving board in to the pool. Very funny.

Bonnie: Love it about the wife knowing the life insurance is paid up. Notice "she" is not in the pool. The smarter sex??

Hello Pat: I read this comment at the crack of dawn this morning but had no time to respond as I had to run out the door. I loved that Smile song by the way. It put a big smile on my face. You are very talented with your selections. I truly think you get no sleep.I am down to four hours myself. That new Cowboy has been around. His name is edgy Gary and the readers seem to like him, so his face will have to show up more I suppose. Great Smile song again. I very much liked it.
