Enjoy Cloudy Days in your Beach Chair

Beach ChairsREALTORS get to listen a lot. They listen to buyer clients' stories, they get to listen to co-workers, they get to listen to partners like those in the Title, Appraisal, Loan, Staging, and Inspector fields. So you hear a lot. About everything.

There's a saying that behind every outward smiling face someone is carrying some pain or burden. Although we work our way individually through our own problems which Norman Vincent Peale said are totally natural if you are alive, it dawned on me that

CLOUDY DAYS ARE FOLLOWED BY SUNNY SKIES

A little case in point. One young lady in her twenties was telling of the story of her dreams to first get a job to support herself and then eventually move to England. She was having a bad week where a heavy dump truck plowed into the back of her car. Luckily she was ok but not the car. She's not found a job yet, had to move back in with the parents. The parents have no sympathy for her predicament, nor her brother, and no one even seemed to be concerned that she was in such a major accident. We can't always pick the best of people for our family members. But her story changed as she truly felt good about friends in her life that she could go to that supported her through this struggle to get where she wanted to go. She could see in her mind her way through this cloudy period toward a day when things would be brighter for her. It struck me what great faith she had in knowing life is not all black and white. That while sure you will have some people that act cold and uncaring toward you, there are others who will give the shirt off their back in times of distress.

So sit back on your beach chair and enjoy the cloudy skies. They are not ALL what life is about. Sunny skies may be only the next moment away.

Oh, and my own cloudy day, I can't respond to my emails today cause something crashed on my computer.  : )

This is such a wonderfully positive post! I am so glad to be reminded of the "every cloud has a lining" phrase that we learned as children.

Smiley Sunglasses Ok... Gary, I have tears in my eyes, maybe it's just one of those days.  I love your post. So true.  I am very fortunate to have wonderful parents on top of so many dear friends, I would be lost in the rough times without each and every one of them.  Have a great day!!!

Gary,

It looks like the cat may have gotten a bad mouse....... or something!  Cute kitten, hope it okay now and no longer crashing on your laptop.  Good luck getting back to returning your emails. Have a blessed Sunday!

Gary if you could get those keys to jump up and down randomly, the cat would probably never leave:)  I think the "mind" has a hard time getting itself around the concept of "good times are just around the corner" because it would then have to accept that in good times "a downturn is just around the corner."  That is just the way it is.  How you experience either one is the only choice we really have.

Rich: I agree, the silver lining thought is the way to think about things.

Kim: I'm very thankful you know your blessings. I love the smiley with the shades.

Jan: The kitten probably ate too big a mouse and it tuckered the poor guy out : ) Have a great day too.

Duane: Thanks.

Charles: You see things in a cool way. If you're having a great day, think, a bad day is just around the corner. I'm starting to think you are warped like ME : )

We have all smiled at the cat on the computer.  He looks kinda dead though.  Take care of him!  And I know you will.

I always say Gary that one can't appreciate blue skies without the cloudy days. Nice reminder.

I feel that in those dark times God is calling us near to see the light he shines that we can't see when things are going great. I may not be blogging about the clouds in my horizon but they're there, oh they're there... I've got my beach chair though, I'm a native Floridian too!

Gary, this is so true!  I was talking to one of my best friends today who has to take his 21 year old son to jail for 30 days.  Wow!  I can't even imagine. But, he has a good attitude, he realizes that in about a month, it will be over with and he hopes that his son will gain something incredibly powerful from this experience.  His sunshiny day is coming!

The kitten on the keyboard is priceless! Seeing that on an otherwise cloudy day would definitely bring a smile to my face.

Karen: That's good.

Barbara: Trust me, he's sleeping. I hear him snoring.

Karen: I'm a former Floridian too. Keep those beach chairs handy.

Don: Great story. A sunny day ahead after 30 days.

Rosario: Fun stuff like that is all around when we look for it.

Joan: It's all those chocolate chip cookies I eat. How can you not feel good after munching on them?
