Late Blooming to Peace

Late BloomerWhile buzzing around my real estate office I see way too many long faces. People, it is not as bad as you are making it out to be. Sure, houses are taking longer to sell. Gasoline prices KEEP going up. But we will get through this. Difficult times do not last FOREVER. What I suggest for everyone is to vow to become a

    LATE BLOOMER TO PEACE.

Do you know what a late bloomer is? In the high school reunion realm it is that woman you meet who had average looks last time you saw her and now is a "stunning" beauty many years later, transformed like an ugly duckling into a swan. In nature it is that plant at the end of your garden in late May that FINALLY bursts into color when you had thought earlier could not come back from the dead of winter cold. You were SO wrong.

Late blooming into peace is a commitment that you will find a source of peace in your life.

For me, it has always been my faith. I even get mad at myself and laugh at my forgetting my gift when I too struggle with wondering when things will straighten out. Then I remember I am moving into fear and forgetting the gift of faith that was given to me.

I won't tell you what you need to do to find your source of peace. It is for you to determine. But it is out there. Vow to find it soon, and live a life of tranquil serenity. It makes the world of difference in turbulent times to have inner calm. Other people can pick up on your deep and still waters despite rough seas on the surface. You are the one they will come to in order to get that feeling of being reassured that all will turn out well in the end.

And isn't that what we all want? Find your inner peace. Live with it. Share your source with others and calm the anxieties of the troubled ones around you. It is not too late to come to the party. Just say you were a

I hear you Gary.  I would like the ones who complain about the country and let them live elsewhere for about two months.  I bet they shut their mouth.

Hey Gary,

FAith is the key.  More than once, I started to worry about something, work, clients, home, etc.  Then God just drops another client in my lap who needs help with a real estate situation and there we go.  He has given me more than I ever need.

John: You are right about things and problems all being relative. We need to focus on what we DO have.

Gary: Glad to hear faith brings you through too. It is such a source of strength and peace for me.

Gary ~ I need you to be like those car commercials where the financial guru's are telling prospective buyers they'd be foolish not to buy that car; just hearing that voice from the back seat would be reassuring and mood-lifting.

Kathy: We'll make the voice into a cassette tape or CD or MP3 for your car stereo, how about that? : )

All will be fine, all will be fine.....

It always helps the situation to have a calm person around.  I try not to panic until there is a reason.    Most things work themselves out or are not as bad as they appeared.Just stay peaceful along the way.

Gary, to me your most powerful words are to "focus on what we DO have."  I believe it's key and essential...we could all be doing a lot worse and are fortunate in so many ways.

We can ALWAYS be grateful, no matter what. There is always something to be thankful for... actually, there's always A LOT to be thankful for, including the opportunity to choose not to allow pettiness to rob you of your inherent joy. Music & playing musical instruments has always been a place of peace & re-centering for me. Also, somehow there is almost always a humorous angle to our perceptions. You write the best posts. Thanks for all the inspiration!

Carol: I sometimes think the calm ones make the best leaders. Even under crisis and much stress they fake it till they make it just not to panic the troops.

Carole: We are wildly fortunate in many ways. We just have to open our eyes to that.

Mara: Music like reading a good book puts in you in another dimension, another mood, for sure. Humor keeps us from taking everything so darn serious. Thanks for your compliment.

Nyles: Peace back at ya' : )

Gary, this is nicely written and with a good illustration. Peace is where we all need to be and for our planet, as well. If each and every person operates from a place of peace, we should have a better place to live. So the goals starts without selves...nice post. Thank you!

Fran: Life now they say begins at 60. At this rate, we'll all live to 120. Always start where you are, and don't worry about the past.

Jeanean: I agree with working on our inner selves as you said. Because from there, that's what we project out to the world. You certainly don't want turmoil inside. Plus, YOU, are the only thing you can truly control as far as people are concerned. So why not work on that?

Faith is indeed a gift, Gary, and it can make this business bearable.  My wife was reading "The Traveler's Gift" recently and there was a long discussion on living life by fear or faith, and the choice that we make to do one or the other.  I choose faith!  Steve

Long faces are another reason I work from my home office! The long faces have too much time on their hands and ned to get out and generate business instead of waiting for the business to come to them.
Posted by Carol Culkin (Houlihan Lawrence Realty) about 1 year ago

Steve: Definitely a choice. Fear not!

Carol: Great point about staying away from the pity parties. Soar with the eagles. I agree you need to reach out and get the business.
