This time of year a handful of REALTORS and many buyers and sellers plan vacations for the summer months. It is a tremendous reminder to us all that life is about "moments." Are you
WALKING THROUGH FIELDS OF GOLD?
What I mean by that is life is so much about the "good memories" that we can create. Look at vacations. You plan them. Part of them go as planned and the even more fun part becomes the unexpected parts. That extra sightseeing tour, that unexplored road you travel down. Time is very swift, especially with children growing up. Create those beautiful memories for them and yourself. Slow down. Cherish this time. And let vacations remind you that ALL the moments in time allow you to build those precious "fields of gold."
And from this writer, if we never cross paths again, let me leave you with this golden nugget:
People will forget what you said to them, but they will never forget how you made them feel.

Ohhh 'blue marshmallows'! Ours are white.......and the other day was the first time i've every seen the hay actually being wrapped into those little bundles.....the spiral wrapping process was fascinating towatch......I don't know anyhow who hasn't had a child drive by and actually believe they were 'giant'marshmallows at one point in their lives......smile........ok i know thats not what your post was about but thats what 'hooked' me...:-)
Gary - my parents both died pretty young, 54 & 62. I live for today and try to make the most of small stolen moments. Life is too short - and I want my kids and grandkids to have memories of me enjoying them.
Gary, Our moments together away from our everyday busy lives are priceless. We have made so many incredible memories without having to spend tones of money on elaborate vacations.
Its not about the number of breaths you take... but about the moments that take your breath away !
Liz: Blue marshmallows! I love it. Only you would see that.
Virginia: Glad you are already storing about memories.
Mana: I'm happy that you are the master of memories.
Bill: That is a great quote in this area.
Gary, I am leaving on Saturday for 2 weeks of beach, sun and hopefully happy memories for the boys. Great post.
Sharon: Superb idea with the photo shows. Categorize them by event and then you can step back through them as slide shows. You are doing great in the memories department.
Susan: Enjoy this precious and fabulous time in your lives. Laugh much and love always. Memories are made each day. Savor them. Time is very short but you can live each day very fully. ABOVE ALL HAVE FUN!!! That's an order : )
Gary...
It's been years since I have even THOUGHT about a vacation. I need to create some moments, that's for sure.
First, this is one of the best Sting songs! Your sentiment regarding how borrowers will remember their feelings about our interaction and professionalism is right on the money.
Gary: It's wonderful that someone can remember how you made them feel. Whether it's a business transaction or a road trip. BTW, I'm leaving this weekend for Florida... just a short vacation. Have a great weekend.
Gary - Memories are going to be made this weekend. My daughter, son-in-law and the grandaughter will come to NY for a gathering of 4 generations! Can't wait to see the baby, but I especially can't wait to see my parents face when they see her for the first time in 6 mos.
That is right, Gary. I can remember incidents in my childhood where folks made me feel good about myself or my talents. They remain in my mind forever.
Richard: Take a vacation. If you do, I will too. We all need to. Memories NEED to be made!!!
Rich: Sting is great with his songs I agree. Keep those feelings going good in your business Rich. It will make you feel good and your business thrive.
Jan: Have a great time on that trip to Florida, and make MANY MANY memories. That's what life is all about.
Carole: Thanks for your thoughts on my selection of songs. I have fun with that part. You are such a great one with your balance and your priorities in your life. More people have got to pay attention to everything you have learned. Don't miss any more precious moments but make up for lost time.
Carol: I have heard of these awesome multiple generations moments. Take many, many pictures and show them to all of us. A tremendous once in a lifetime event.
Barbara: I'm glad you experienced that so you can pass those good feelings on to others. I know you are very talented in this special area.
GARY - I really look forward to the short getaways with the family. It's a great way to recharge and refocus. We're doing one soon, and we haven't made any real plans, but we usually do. This time, we agreed that we'll just let it happen and have fun.
Going on vacation last week reminded me of what is really important, sometimes that gets forgotten. I love reminiscing on those moments in life!!
Gary,
I love this beautiful song by Sting. I agree that we need to cherish all the time spent with family and friends and make happy memories. Great song choice! I even have it as one of my songs on my playlist for my blogs. Good luck in the June contest!
Gary, I love summer vacations, sun, beaches, suntan and cool margaritas... But who really have time for vacations? Do you?... I bet you'll pack your laptop and share with us your beautiful memories.
Adam: That's my plans as well, more freestyle.
Patricia: You set the bar up for us with your trip to Virginia. Thanks for letting us know about it.
Michelle: The song goes right along with creating the memories. I'm glad we share this favorite artist.
Arina: I am like you and "haven't" had time for vacations. I'm committing to changing that this summer. You should too Arina. TAKE VACATIONS. Relax "just a little." I pack my laptop but need to disconnect more. I will take some 35 mm and digital photos though. Just have fun!!
