A young man named John received a parrot as a gift. The parrot had a bad attitude and an even worse vocabulary. Every word out of the bird's mouth was rude, obnoxious, and laced with profanity.
John tried and tried to change the bird's attitude by consistently saying only polite words, playing soft music, and anything else he could think of to "clean up" the bird's vocabulary.
Finally, John was fed up, and he yelled at the parrot. The parrot yelled back. John shook the parrot, and the parrot got angrier and even ruder. John, in desperation, threw up his hand, grabbed the bird, and put him in the freezer. For a few minutes the parrot squawked and kicked and screamed.
Then suddenly there was total quiet. Not a peep was heard for over a minute. Fearing that he'd hurt the parrot, John quickly opened the door to the freezer.
The parrot calmly stepped out onto John's outstretched arms and said, "I believe I may have offended you with my rude language and actions. I'm sincerely remorseful for my inappropriate transgressions and I fully intend to do everything I can to correct my rude and unforgivable behavior."
John was stunned at the change in the bird's attitude. As he was about to ask the parrot what had made such a dramatic change in his behavior, the bird continued, "May I ask what the turkey did?"
HAPPY EARLY THANKSGIVING

Cute Story Gary...there is always a way to calm the 'parrot in our lives, we just need to figure out how!
Loved that!
Hi there-I really thought maybe I would get top spot to comment on your blog, but didn't quite make it. I typed twowords fast and made 2nd. But that's OK, I'll be happy with that because I still got a spot. Whether it's first or 50th. I don't mind sharing. I know you have lots of heart and genuine caring to go around and I promise not to use bad words here, so you'd throw me in the deep freeze. All it takes for me to appreciate what I have, is knowing that a very special person genuinely cares. Life doesn't get any better than that. Only good positive, inspiring, uplifting and encouraging words will come from this sleepy bird because she doesn't like to be cold. Been there. Done that. Not fun. She likes warm hearts and big wonderful bear hugs. Until next time. Have a awesome and uplifting evening. Your sleepy fan is headed to bed to see if I can get rid of a killer headache. (((HUG for YOU)))
Happy Thanksgiving to you Gary.
William: Freezer in this case did the trick : )
Hi s.lee.p: I see you are trying to type fast. Don't go in a deep freeze and stay warm this time of year. particularly Turkey Day. Time for much thanks from all of us. Thank you for stopping by and a big (((HUG))) back at you.
Howdy Neal: Happy Thanksgiving to you.
Gary, Thank you, always nice to get a good laugh out of a post! This was adorable.
Carole: I got frustrated with Proxy Server errors today and that negativity dart shot my way had to be counter balanced with something sent the other way into the Active Rain cloud. It worked. The problems cleared up.
LOL, thanks for the laugh Gary. I hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving too! There is so much to be thankful for.
Patricia: A little humor from this lily pad. Happy Thanksgiving to you and enjoy that upcoming vacation you mentioned.

We have a wonderful African grey parrott who we dearly love but sometimes he can really be a loudmouth and try your nerves. I love the joke.
Gary-Thank you. I needed a laugh. I love the parrot. Thanks for sharing and bringing a smile to my face.
Gary,What a delightful way to start the day...with a smile. Love your polly graphic! Happy Thanksgiving to a very special person...YOU.
HAHA Gary- Heard that one a VERY long time ago, but must admit the language was slightly less than correct. After all these years, it's still a funnie. Happy Turkey Day to you and yours :-) We're off to visit long-time friends who always feel nice to be with.
Hi Gary, You certainly cleaned that one up and in a marvelous way. I know that story and with your version, I can at least repeat it in mixed company. Thanks for the marvelous interpretation. Actually your version of this is Way Better! And just a funny. Just gos to show one that crude and vulgar language does not make a cute and funny tale better. This proves it.
Hi Gary,
This is too funny!
Catherine
Gary - That was very funny, I too did not expect that ending. However seeing a dead bird was a good reason for the Parrot to change his attitude.
